So, You Think You Can Choreograph!
Dates: July 6 - July 29
Days: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursdays
Time: 5:30 – 6:30
This four-week intensive puts the dance in your hands with an opportunity to explore the journey of choreography across a variety of styles. Meeting three nights each week for workshop-style classes in tap, jazz and contemporary, classes will start off with a teacher-led warm up or activity before focusing on student-led choreography. Dancers will have the opportunity to explore the joys and challenges of choreographing both individually and as a group, thinking about the elements of performance beyond "just dancing.” If you’ve had moves in your head that you just need to bring to life, then this is the summer intensive for you! Variations in Classical Ballet Intensive
Dates: July 6 - July 29
Days: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursdays
Time: 6:30-7:45
In this program students will learn about classical ballets by composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky: Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker. Each ballet will be studied at a glance so that students can learn the synopsis and leading roles, as well as choreography of staple variations from each ballet, such as Swan Lake’s pas de quatré (also known as the dance of the four swans). Designed for pre-pointe and/or aspiring pre-pointe dancers, this four-week session will focus on each ballet across three classes for the first three weeks, and finish with a week of creative activities and games pertaining to each ballet!
